This image came about from giving a class on setting up a model for a principal work. There was quite a bit of planning the composition and lighting of pose. The theme was roughly based on spring and youth; the model fit both of those ideas superbly. The lighting set up was playing off the great 19th Century painters--brilliantly backlit and delicately formed in the indirect light. I am contemplating making this into a new life-sized painting. Not in a small way, the theme of youthful enthusiasm matches the way I feel about my art and my art career. Let's see if I take both this painting and my career further.
