Little Goddess
She bore the night of his fear,
And ferried him,
Effortlessly,
To the sights of Icarus.
She embraced the flight of his glow,
And held it,
Simply,
In the pulse of her body.
She seared the light of his gravity,
And eased him,
Gently,
To light in a ground of green and gold.

This painting is dedicated to the special people that have loved my art and enthusiastically supported my aims as an artist. My mom, Ann Turville, is one of them. I have lived in a few countries with different cultures and I have met many art talents that as children were discouraged from pursuing art and directed towards "practical" fields. I never felt this attitude growing up, rather I remember that it was code of honor to follow my dreams. My older sister, Janny (Janet Newberry Howe), was one of the early tennis professionals. She had no other agenda other than following her talent in tennis. You could sum up her attitude and influence as: just do it! There are collectors and friends that own and honor my major works, Geir Friis, Ton Leebeek and Fabienne Lahaut, John Banning, Bonnie and Robin Priest, Annie Iriye, Ciro and Francesca D'Agostino, Gordon Ecker, George Stravridis, Kip Durney, Debbie and Bob Albert, and Nancy Frey. I couldn't have made all my art without this special art family. Thank you.
