This fully-developed pastel is now seeing the light of day after being in storage for 12 years. It is from a series of 1990 nudes, in which I looked to integrate strong contrast of color as well as dramatically arranging the triangular abstract shapes of his legs and arm. The painting, Counterpose, painted at this period, took this idea to the extreme.
