Del Mar, 2005, oil on panel, 12 x 16" $800

I grew up just south of this place. I painted it on a thick misty day. The Pacific Ocean is a few thousand feet to the left and behind. One of the world's best Mexican restaurants, Tony's Jackal, is just a few minutes away.   It's marsh land that gets inundated by the Pacific and it was always a landmark for me when driving up to Los Angeles from La Jolla. I particularly love the composition in this painting and, though I was painting what I saw, there is a kind of melancholy homesickness to it.

5" wide frame, hand-painted in ivory black oil paint.
