Green Stripe, 2008, oil on canvas panel, 9x12"

While in Mexico, the artists in my group stayed at Mary's ranch. The walls were burnt orange with dark tinted windows. This view is looking into and through the kitchen window (fond memories of the food prepared there). I had fun composing the rectangular shape of the sky with highlighted green of the lawn, then placing the window off center, counter balancing it with the dark contrast of the upper left roofline and dark shadow of the lawn.  For me, the ornament of this piece is the reflection of the green lawn in the window.
