Drawing Materials List

Newsprint for quick sketches;
Some good paper for longer poses, such as Rives BFK (about $4 a sheet, great stuff)
Soft charcoal pencils 6B's, and conte for the quick sketches.
Kneaded eraser.
An easel (if you want to stand);
And a drawing board or a cardboard portfolio (which also holds the paper.)

A blank notebook, like the black bind cansons book.

Painting Material List

9x12 inch canvas panel
French easel
, optional
Pliers, for ease of screwing and unscrewing the French easel.
Oil color Brands: Winsor Newton, Van Gogh, Rembrandt.
(You can mix and match them, so pick the best prices. The colors are all priced differently, because of the different pigment compounds. Call me if you have a question while at the store)
An oil color set should be fine,
or some basic colors, 1.4 oz each:
Titanium White
Yellow
Ocher

Cerulean Blue or Cobalt Blue (the cheaper of the two)
Ultra Marine Blue
Black
Flat and/or round oil/acrylic brushes, small to medium in size, about $4-$7 each.
Winsor Newton Oil painting Medium 75 ml and Turpenoid about 16 oz. Or I like to mix my own: stand oil, Damar varnish, and turpenoid.
