What grabs our visual attention? Is it the light? The pines? The shadowed bushes? What does it mean? Is it important in a world racked by plague and destruction?

Still wet, a plein air oil painting of the view from my studio window. It is so peaceful here and in the town of Idyllwild. There seems a huge clash between what I see on the news and what I see in real life. Perhaps my mood is colored by the other day, my ancient water heater died and the landlord replaced it with a new one within 24 hours. When things are right within and around me I try to make the most of it and channel that energy into my art.

Hope you are doing okay.
