Newberry: Blue, Pink, and Aqua Sky over Texas, pastel

I relied on color theory for the edits of this piece — a little complicated to write. I chose the light to be cool, and the shadows warm. And the depth would have turquoise tint, so as the clouds receded their yellow tint highlights would be an aqua-green (cool light and turquoise depth), and their shadows would be warm, you can see the pinks of the shadows in the foreground, but in depth they turn a pale purple-blue. The highlight of the clouds in the foreground are yellow-white. hahah, color theory is nice in theory, it feels like magic when it works, but sometimes it turns into a disaster — this isn’t one of those times.

I started editing this around 3 pm yesterday, its now 1 am, for the last ten hours I had no awareness of my self, past, or future — completely immersed in color theory, light vibrations, and movement. It feels like something beyond emotion, effort, or intellect.; perhaps something like bliss without celebration, audience, or introspection — pure energy perhaps?

While drawing the clouds seemed to be a benevolent god spreading his wings as an embrace to the universe. I am a humanist, and think art is the source of spirituality (30,000 before religion and philosophy). But I think I got something of the nature of art here.
