Rapture: The Space Series
Rapture: The Space Series is a cycle of 24 life-size paintings (each 64×48″, oil on linen) of gods and goddesses set against nebula backgrounds. Spanning birth to old age.
The theme is that their shadowed selves are transparent and the stuff of the universe, lines mark their boundaries, and light defines who they are. 19 of 24 completed.

Michael Newberry (b. 1956, La Jolla, California) is an artist whose lifelong aim is to be the best artist he can be. Since selling his first artwork at 17, he has sold over one million dollars' worth of work worldwide and exhibited internationally from New York and Los Angeles to Greece, Rome, Brussels, and Washington, D.C. He is currently (2022 to present) completing Rapture: The Space Series, a cycle of twenty-four 64×48″ paintings of gods and goddesses against nebula backgrounds.
