Just Now Finished, The 17th in My Space Series

Madonna of the Stars is the 17th of my Space Series, 64×48”. It’s the only one of this series that has a clothed figure, though the fabric covering her right breast is nearly transparent. Both the mother and the child have slightly optimistic looks, especially around their mouths, and clear eye visions looking in slightly different directions. The background is a thousand points of light/stars, and I’m using my technique where the shadows are transparent and stuff of the universe, while it is the light that defines who they are. It also shares a theme with many of my other major works where it’s a twist on art historical imagery.
